What are your rates?
I will be happy to share my on-site and virtual rates in our initial phone call.
How long will the project take?
That depends on what you want to achieve. Clearing a closet will take less time than clearing a full house. It’s important for me to visit with you in your home or virtually so I can scope out the project and provide an estimate of my time.
How long are the sessions?
On-site sessions are a minimum of three hours. It’s best to start in the morning. I find it best to work for no more than 8 hours a day; beyond that, you’re just too tired to make good decisions. Virtual sessions have a one hour minimum.
How will I know you’re the right person to work with?
We have two opportunities to get to know each other before a project begins. First, we have a conversation on the phone and, second, I carry out a free on-site or virtual assessment (there may be a mileage fee if it is beyond a local radius). You want to make sure the “chemistry” feels right and I need to ensure that a project is within my capability.
How can I be sure you’ll do a good job?
I have numerous house moves (including three international moves) as an adult under my belt, and have helped many family, friends and clients over the years. I also have 15 years of project management experience, and 10 years’ experience as an organization development consultant. This means two things – one, that I have extensive experience solving problems, the other that project proposals are realistic.
How do I know this will be a good investment?
You will know this is a good investment when you find you have more time in your day because you’re not searching for missing items, when you feel lighter and brighter as you come through the door of your home or home office, when you’ve saved money during your move by significantly reducing the number of possessions beforehand, or when you find yourself being able to make more decisions more easily.
What is included, and what isn’t?
When you work with me, you have the opportunity to learn about my methodology so you can continue to be successful in keeping your home or home office de-cluttered and organized.
I don’t do cleaning, nor do I haul away garbage. I might offer to drop a few bags at a thrift store, but this is not necessarily part of my service.
How and when should I pay you?
I accept cash and credit cards at the end of each on-site session. For Virtual Organizing, you pay via PayPal on the website.
Why do I need your help – couldn’t I de-clutter and organize on my own?
Yes, you could do this on your own and save yourself some money. The advantage of using a professional like me, however, is that I will save you the time and hassle of trying to decide how best to move forward and not get bogged down once you do begin. Quite frankly, it is likely to take a lot of work to ‘get it’ on your own; I can get you there faster and with less stress.
Do you offer a guarantee?
Whether the project will continue to work after it is completed will depend on how willing you are to continue implementing it. For that reason, it’s not possible to guarantee this kind of work. Having said that, I want to see you succeed and I will do everything within reason to make that happen! This includes education as we work together, and optional maintenance sessions after the project is completed.
